Friendship Cricket for AIDS Awareness

Rajshahi, May 7:

In order to create awareness on HIV/AIDS issues, a friendship cricket match was held in Rajshahi University (RU) today. Bangladesh Advanced Students Alliance (BASA) RU unit won the match.

The match, arranged by CCD Bangladesh and its co-organization BASA, was held at the playground of Shahid Habibur Rahman Hall of RU. Cricketers of BASA Rajshahi College unit and BASA RU unit took part in the cricket match. In this contesting match, RU BASA unit won by 4 wickets. Khondakar Monasib Foysal, organizer of BASA RU unit and student of Language Department became Man of the Match through his significant contribution in the win. Nahidul Islam Robin and Fahimul Hoque Fuad conducted the match as umpire.

The main slogan of the match was ‘Let’s Know about AIDS through Friendship and Fellowship’. During the match, different AIDS awareness messages were announced over microphone. In addition, a large number of colorful festoons holding AIDS awareness slogans were hung round the playground.

At the end of the match, Program Coordinator of CCD Bangladesh A H M Abdul Hai, Campaign Officer Abdul Mottaleb Jewel, Information Management Officer Anisul Ashekeen and Program Officer Abu Tyeb Shah handed over prizes to the winners and Man of the Match.
